Happy 13th birthday son! Wow, 3 teenage boys in the house now; no more babies. How can that be?! Today the house is buzzing with cooking and party making for this special boy of ours in celebration of his life. He, like all the rest, is a miracle; a creation of the God of wonders. He is a treasure. To my great delight and selfish pleasure, he is still very huggy and kissy. I am greatly blessed. He hasn't lost his sense of wonder and imagination, and he still prefers to go outside to play soldier with his bb gun, a stick, or whatever is handy, to just about anything other than a great book. That beautiful sense of childhood innocence and wonder has not yet been lost. I love that. This picture is precious for a couple of reasons. First of all, it's so very him - tousled hair, saggy sweatshirt and all. This is pretty much the way he looks every single day, and that's just the way he likes it - not too neat, not too tidied; a little mussed up. Secondly, he's sitting in one of my most favorite places in all the world. There is not another place I love more than this, save my own home. The presence of Christ, peace, the joy of family, and comfy, cozy hominess like nowhere else abides there. And of course, someone so dear to my heart is there. As a matter of fact, there's a birthday at that home as well today. Happy birthday dear one!
May the peace of Christ dwell with you richly. Thank you Lord for these immeasurable blessings.

Precious :-) That picture is so Daniel! I am sure he had a wonderful birthday, and in two weeks I'll be home to drink that last Jones Soda he said he was saving for me ;) Love you all!
